The Federal Government has said that the Zungeru Hydro Power Plant would add 700 megawatts of power to the national lattice when finished.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, put forth the revelation in an announcement issued by Mrs Etore Thomas, Deputy Director, Press, in the service.
The announcement said that Fashola spoke to by the Director, Energy Resources in the Ministry, Mr Emmanuel Ajayi, made the revelation at the venture site in Zungeru, Niger State.
Fashola said the venture, being executed by a consortium of real Chinese organizations, was one of the greatest hydro control extends in the nation.
"It is an awesome and achievable accomplishment that would help the arrangement of power supply across the nation.
"It is a hint of something to look forward to for the fulfillment of the present organization's pushed of giving incremental, supportable and continuous power supply which Nigerians are longing for."
